Overall, the usability testing revealed that the website performed well for the majority of tasks, with users navigating through the interface smoothly. However, the scenario involving setting up five songs to play consecutively encountered some issues. Users reported difficulties in finding the specific feature or option to queue songs in the desired order, indicating a potential usability concern in this aspect of the website's functionality. This feedback highlights an area for improvement in the user experience, suggesting the need for clearer instructions or more intuitive design elements for managing the song queue icon and function on the Spotify platform.
Our group conducted usability testing on users for the website Hipcamp, focusing on two specific scenarios. In the first scenario, users were asked to book a 6-day trip in Destin, Florida, with specific criteria, including finding a travel trailer RV site under $75 with Wi-Fi. The second scenario involved finding a beach camping area under $50 per night where tents were allowed and pets were permitted. Through this testing, we identified three key findings. Firstly, users struggled to find results from the search bar that matched the given criteria, indicating a challenge in retrieving relevant information. Secondly, users faced difficulty in effectively utilizing the filter button to refine their search results in both tasks. Lastly, users encountered issues in utilizing the "Near Me" button to find places close to them, with some participants expressing confusion and others needing prompts to locate this feature. These findings were supported by instances of participant confusion, delays in finding the "Near Me" button, and alternative routes taken to complete the task. Overall, these insights highlight areas for improvement in the website's usability, particularly in search functionality and navigation features.
